Do UGG Neumels Run Big? Neumel Sizing & Fit Guide

“Do UGG Neumels run big?” is one of the most common UGG fit questions we get, right after the Classic Mini. The short answer from our team, an authorized UGG retailer since 2003: the Neumel runs true to size, comes in whole sizes only, and feels snug for the first few wears before the sheepskin lining packs out.

Do UGG Neumel boots run big or small?

The Neumel runs true to size for most people. It feels snug when new, then the 17mm Twinface sheepskin lining compresses and molds to your foot, usually loosening about half a size with wear. UGG makes the Neumel in whole sizes only, so there are no half sizes.

What size UGG Neumel should I order?

Order your usual whole size. Because the Neumel comes in whole sizes only, anyone who normally wears a half size should round down to the nearest whole size, since the lining packs out as the boots break in and a snug start gives the best long-term fit. If you already wear a whole size, stay there.

Do the men's and women's Neumel fit the same?

They are sold in separate men's and women's sizing, so order within your own. Both run true to size on the same sheepskin last and follow the same whole-sizes-only, packs-out-half-a-size rule. If you wear a US women's size and are looking at a men's Neumel, the usual conversion is about 1.5 sizes down; when in doubt, call us and we will convert it for you.

Should I wear socks with the Neumel?

The Neumel is designed to be worn barefoot or with thin socks, because the plush sheepskin lining is the cushioning. If you plan to wear thicker socks, stay at your usual whole size rather than sizing up. Sizing up for socks usually leaves the boot too loose once the lining packs out.

Do UGG Neumels stretch out over time?

The sheepskin lining compresses and the suede relaxes slightly as you wear them in, so the fit settles about half a size over the first week or two. That break-in is exactly why a snug start matters: a Neumel that feels roomy on day one will likely feel sloppy once it packs out.

How should a UGG Neumel fit?

Snug but not painful when new. Your toes should reach close to the front without curling, your heel should sit in the boot with only slight movement, and — because the Neumel is a lace-up chukka — the laces should close without straining. After a week or two the lining molds into a soft, custom feel. If they feel loose from day one even with the laces snug, they are likely too big.

Should I get the Neumel boot or the Tasman slipper?

Both use UGG's true-to-size, whole-sizes-only sheepskin sizing, but the silhouettes are different. The Neumel is a lace-up suede chukka boot with ankle coverage — the laces let you dial in the instep and volume, so it suits a narrower or higher foot and works as a true everyday boot you can wear out. The Tasman is a low, slip-on moccasin slipper with a fixed braided collar and no laces, so heel hold matters more and it leans toward lounging and quick errands. Want an ankle boot you can lace up? Choose the Neumel. Want a cozy slip-on? See our UGG Tasman sizing guide.
