UGG Tasman vs Disquette
The Tasman and Disquette are both UGG slip-on slippers with sheepskin lining and suede uppers, but they sit in different spots of the lineup. Here's how to choose, with sizing notes from a SoCal shoe shop that has fit UGG since 2003.
What's the difference between Tasman and Disquette?
- Tasman: low-profile slip-on. Flat outsole, suede upper, woven braid trim, sheepskin lining. The classic indoor/outdoor slipper.
- Disquette: chunkier silhouette with a higher EVA/rubber platform sole and a heeled-mule look. Same sheepskin lining and suede, but visually more shoe than slipper.
Which one fits true to size?
Both run true to size. UGG slip-ons come in whole sizes only — if you're between, our advice depends on the shoe:
- Tasman: round down if you wear thin socks or have a narrow foot. Suede stretches slightly.
- Disquette: round up if you have a wide foot or high arch. The shaped platform reduces wiggle room.
Which is more comfortable for all-day wear?
The Disquette has the more supportive footbed and platform — better for being on your feet around the house or on light outdoor walks. The Tasman feels more like a slipper.
Can I wear them outside?
Both have rubber outsoles built for light outdoor wear (errands, coffee runs, dog walks). Neither is a rain shoe — wet suede is sad suede.
Which looks better with jeans?
Personal taste, but the Disquette's platform reads more like a shoe and pairs cleanly with cropped or straight jeans. The Tasman is lower-profile and works better with leggings, sweats, or a slim ankle pant.
Are official UGG colors the same?
Both run in core neutrals (Chestnut, Black, Sand, Grey) plus seasonal colors. Color names are exact — see the product page for the verified UGG name (e.g. Chestnut, Dusted Cocoa, Pink Dawn).
