Do UGG Tasman Slippers Run Big? Tasman Sizing & Fit Guide
UGG's Tasman slipper is one of the most-searched fit questions we get. Here's the straight answer from our team, an authorized UGG retailer since 2003: the Tasman runs true to size, comes in whole sizes only, and feels snug for the first few wears before the sheepskin packs out.
Do UGG Tasman slippers run big or small?
The Tasman runs true to size for most people, with a slightly roomy slipper fit. It feels snug when new, then the genuine sheepskin lining packs out and molds to your foot, usually loosening about half a size with wear. UGG makes the Tasman in whole sizes only — there are no half sizes.
What size Tasman should I order?
Order your usual whole size. Because the Tasman comes in whole sizes only, anyone who normally wears a half size should round down to the nearest whole size — the lining compresses as the slippers break in, so a snug start gives the best long-term fit. If you already wear a whole size, stay there.
Do the Tasman and Tazz fit the same?
Yes. The Tazz is the same Tasman on a chunky platform, and both run true to size with the same footbed and the same whole-sizes-only rule. If you are between sizes in either, order down. See our Tasman vs Tazz guide for the full comparison.
Should I size up to wear socks?
The Tasman is made to be worn barefoot or with thin socks, since the plush lining is the cushioning. If you plan to wear thicker socks, stay at your usual whole size rather than sizing down. Sizing up for socks usually leaves the slippers too loose once the lining packs out.
How should a Tasman fit?
Snug but not painful when new. Because the Tasman is a low slip-on with a fixed braided collar and no laces, a secure heel is the fit cue that matters most — your heel should sit in the slipper with only slight movement and your toes should reach close to the front without curling. After a week or two the lining compresses about half a size and the fit relaxes into a soft, custom feel. If your heel slips out or they feel sloppy from day one, they are likely too big.
Should I get the Tasman slipper or the Neumel boot?
They share UGG's true-to-size, whole-sizes-only, packs-out-about-half-a-size sizing, but they are different shoes. The Tasman is a low, slip-on suede moccasin with a fixed braided collar and an indoor-outdoor sole — no laces, so a secure heel hold is what matters, and it is built for lounging plus quick errands. The Neumel is a lace-up suede chukka boot with ankle coverage; the laces let you fine-tune the instep and volume, which makes it the better pick for a narrower or higher foot and for a true everyday boot. Want a cozy slip-on? Choose the Tasman. Want an ankle boot you can lace and wear out? See our UGG Neumel sizing guide.
