The Dr. Martens 1460 is the original 8-eye boot that started the brand — first manufactured in Wollaston, England on April 1, 1960 (hence "1460"). This is the Nappa leather version: Goodyear-welted construction with the iconic yellow stitching and AirWair air-cushioned sole, but with a soft, supple Nappa leather upper instead of the standard smooth leather. It lasts for years with basic care (a leather conditioner every season).
Fit: Whole UK sizes. Dr. Martens says most styles run true to size; if you fall between sizes, the brand recommends the larger size with an insole to take up the half.

Fit notes: Dr. Martens uses whole UK sizes and says most styles run true to size. If you are between sizes, the brand recommends the larger size with an insole to take up the half. If you plan to wear thick wool socks or want extra room for thicker insoles, order your usual size. Nappa is a softer, more supple leather from the first wear; Dr. Martens still suggests short wears at first. A slight heel lift in a new pair is normal and usually eases once the sole starts to flex.
